I don't think it is likely with them cutting way back on all of the things they offer including most all or all of the W mint collectibles.
add more to it the mint should have stop producing spouses gold. and cut back modern commemorative coins to just one issue and six coins a year. three unc and three proof. and change the half dollar to a silver coin. even 40% will do.
I read that the price of the proof sets are going up in 2009. I guess this would be the Silver proof sets?
price up maybe because of additional one quarter, one indian dollar, and (three to four) one cent. that's is why the price is up. other than that. silver and other metal were quite down this year.
probably not. Since next year the set will contain not 5, but 6 territorial quarters and 4 lincoln cents instead of 1. then add the usual suspects of 1 sac dollar, 4 pres dollars, a kennedy half, a jefferson nickel and a roosevelt dime it will be the largest proof set ever and probably the most expensive. The Silver set will likely break the $50 mark, so strap it down!
2009 a record holder 2009 proof set, mint unc set and silver proof set might be a record holder in term of number of pieces. and after that, it would be reduce to few pieces just like before. because we have new (10 year program-5 pc a year) set of quarters coming. and the presidential & sac dollars thing. the traditional five to six pc set is gone forever.
don't be so sure elaine. Just as today on the mint website, we saw that the Mint isn't afraid to offer less, maybe congress will follow that lead and lay off of the circulating commemorative programs.
hope not i hope the congress will not intervene mint's project. actually, the mint should continue reducing some more. let say, 100 or less items.
order again i was able to order john quincy adams 500 coin (two 250 coin/bag). all other presidents were still available.
That program has not been approved yet and if it doesn't get approved in the next couple weeks or so it will have to start all over again from the beginning with the new Congress next year. By that point it will quite likely it will NOT be approved for 2010 because they don't have the lead time they need. It typically takes about 18 months from beginning selection of designs to finished coin. (That's why they started the selection process for ech of the state quarter designs about two years before they were to be issued.) They would barely have time to make 2011 even if it is approved quickley.
to conder101 hopefully it will not approve. the lesser is better. maybe they just change the old reverse. that's is.
i hate bag the mint now selling 250 coin in a bag for $319.95. i hope the mint will change it to 250 coin for 10 roll of 25 coin each. and put it inside a box. just like the program ship directly to customers.
2009 presidential four pieces proof set stand at 433,295 so far. the lowest after three years of introduction.
Elaine 1970 said: "check it at u.s. mint website. " I go there quite frequently and under the category of coin production figures it has nothing on the proof sets. This is what it says on the U.S. Mint's website: Coin Production Figures The Coin Production figures represent all of the "circulating" coins produced by the United States Mint, including the coins sold through the numismatic bags & rolls program. These numbers do not include the "proof" or "uncirculated" quality (i.e. UNC sets) coins produced by the Mint.
just ordered 2,000 pc of jackson and sacagawea dollars. will use it anyway. and i will also search for ms65 - ms67. and i also get $24.00 from credit card rebate. not bad at all.
