My uncle, now 99 years old (100 in April), OF GERMANIC heritage, shot Germans and took a shrapnel wound at the train station during the Battle of the Bulge FROM Germans. Here's the big difference - we never thought of ourselves as anything other than American. We never hyphenated. And we never identified as anything other than pure 100% American culturally. We played no German music, we did no German dance (Is there such a thing? LOL!). We kept no German "stuff". We wore no German hats. We had no German Pride parades. Is that okay? We go all patriotic on ONE day - July 4.
Pardon the language but who pissed in his post toasties? Did he go off just because someone mentioned Puerto Rico or did I miss something else?
No @Conder101 He got: ButtHurt An inappropriately strong negative emotional response from a perceived personal insult. Characterized by strong feelings of shame. Frequently associated with a cessation of communication and overt hostility towards the "aggressor."
