Let's not jump the gun. The last one took two weeks to sell out. I think all of us "investors" would be quite happy with that this time around, too, no?
i did not follow the first one. so it took two weeks. well. let's see the development. as of today. the cent is passed 900,000,000 mark. it should be considered a lot. isn't it?. beside that. this time is not even half year.
Dang really... Well, lets see... If mine says 5/29 I'll get it close to Thanksgiving... LOL If yours says 7/13, you'll get it in 2010... LOL
2009 silver proof set ($29.95) and 2009 clad proof set ($44.95). i will buy these two sets. while the other two 2009 lincoln cent rolls. i might buy them. that's it for 2009. as far as gold coin is concerned. i will buy more if the gold price drops. but it won't.
With the hucksters on "Flea-Bay" wanting outrageously high prices for rolls and even individual pieces, anyone who is crazy enough to buy will be just another victim of the infamous "investor-speculators".
Many of the sellers offer quite reasonable starting prices . . . it's not that they are demanding outrageously high prices, it's that there are some people out there that think the outrageously high prices are worth it. I started my "first day cancellation roll" of the new Lincoln cents at 0.01. If I get a couple of extra bucks for it, I'm happy. If it gets bid up to $20, or $30, or $40 . . . well . . . don't blame the sellers for that!
my ordered shipping date was changed from 6/15 to 5/29. proof to be a lot of mistake or credit card problems. my order number was also changed.
Caveat emptor Hucksters ...lol...now THAT's a good one. A seller list a price and the free market determines if that price is rediculous or not. What seems outrageous to some may be an good opportunity for others. It's very easy to sit in judgement and play armchair quarterback.
Just wanted to add my 'two cents'. I would think that part of the premium of mint rolls is the labor of "them" doing it. Not sure how the process works w/ coins from 2 mints. Also u are assured that the entire roll has correct coins. If you receive coins from a bank in roll form, usually comes from a contracter who's bussiness is to fill coin requirements from banks. They are not concerned with the type in the rolls, so in my mind there is no guarantee what is in a roll without breaking it open. Would some explain to me the value of postmarks on the box. If the box were opened it would be discarded or damaged.
I think most of us were talking about postmarks on the rolls. At least that's what I see advertised all over (and what I did with my rolls). The value of that, to some, is that it's a "first day postmark."
i really don't like the postmark. it's just tainted the wrapper. i want original. secondly, the dealers take that opportunity to sell its bank roll at a very high price. remember those bank rolls are a lot. so far, 1,000,000,000 have been produced. i expect the mint will made 2,000,000,000 at year end.
no i think it will not sell out. because the mint this time is too clever enough to produce many more than the first issue. maybe 300,000 sets.
Well, we can just hope... But, if they made 300,000 sets, than it will take a while to sell out, and there is still possibility of a profit, with the back order date being at 7/13, which really means sometime in November...
Well . . . 1. To each his/her own. Some people collect "first day issues" 2. While 1 billion cents were produced, I'd bet only a couple of thousand of rolls will ever have the first day stamped on them. Hey -- I don't get it either. In fact, I don't even collect rolls -- a single nice BU to put in my album is good enough for me. But, hey, we all collect different things, right?
if you have relatives working at post office. they can have you post mark dated whatever you want. what about those companies have their own post mark?.
Well, we are all different people, so yeah, we all collect different things, with some similarities here and there :goofer:
i collect stamps long before. but unlike before. a lot of american collect them. now very few. stamps is still popular in eastern asia or so called oriental. first day issue used to be a very popular item. first day issue on coin roll. come on. secondly. i recommend everybody not to buy bank rolls. even mint roll is already considered a lot at this time. bank roll will be selling soon at around $1.00 a roll.
This Rail Splitter was probably the hardest thing I've ever tried to order from the mint. We began at 12 oclock. I had 3 people steadily calling the mint for ever 45 minutes before giving up, plus I had 4 separate computers trying to load the website for 50 minutes before one finally loaded the homepage. From there it was 8 more minutes before I could get from page to page and get my order number @ 12:58pm. I think I even had my UHR gold ordered within the first 6 minutes @ 12:06. I hope the Rail Splitter has less spotting and cracks on the forehead. Has anybody heard of one graded any better than a MS-67. That's the best I've seen for the Cabin. I just hope the Rail Splitters are better quality. I may be totally wrong about this, but wasn't the mint selling rolls of the Cabins like they did an afterthought on their part.
