LP3s I'm confused on the limits from the mint. I initially ordered 5 LP3s and when they arrived last week. I ordered 5 more and that order was cancelled due to limits. YET, I ordered 5 LP2s and later ordered 3 more and those were not cancelled. Ya, I missed the LP1s but did manage to get 3 boxes.
Anyone else flip the LP3s? I flipped 2 boxes and made about 14 bucks after fees......not great, but better than nothing.
the mint selling four pieces lincoln proof set at $7.95. this set is with box and c.o.a. while the dealers were selling this set at $18.95 without box and c.o.a. those set were broken up from the clad proof set. what a gap?. and why collectors were buying from the dealers?.
Possibly because maybe some of those folks felt that the mint might not issue this type of set this year. They may have not been able to afford the purchase price of an entire proof set ,and, in order to purchase such a set, opted for a dealer purchase. On the other hand it could have been a whole bunch of folks who didn't have a clue about collecting and just wanted an example of the new cents and chose to pay the price. Happens all the time on HSN and ShopNBC....
since the dealers already knew the mint selling it at $7.95 per set. still the dealers don't want to lower it down. maybe afraid that some people will return it.
the lincoln four pieces proof set is surprising slow. only 120,957 so far. the price is low at $7.95 per set. and yet few people buying it. maybe some already bought earlier at $18.95 from dealers.
I'm not taking any chances this year with all the Lincolns. 20 different Lincolns in 1 year? WOW. I'll take a seroius beating to get my own little hoard. Those D-Mints are very elusive! Definately check out the www.usmint.gov site before shelling out extra @ the coin shops. I think a great investment will be the "Lincoln Chronicles" set. If you can't get that go for a couple P & D Roll sets and a few 4 coin Lincoln cent Proof sets http://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/wc...ctId=14920&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=10211 It's only a 1 time deal so get in while you can, that's what I say. 20/20 hindsight right? Plus go after some 2008 Lincoln rolls and high grades now. I'm preparing for next year. 2010 Lincoln with god knows what on the reverse. (Hopefully not that hideous flag design) Look for me in the Open Forum for a buddy set up for the LP4, those D's are murder east of the Mississippi! (hope I didn't violate any rule there, sorry and edit if i did.) See you guys tomorrow @ the show if anyones goin!
At the Whitman show today in Philly. Barely any LP1,2 or 3's available except for 2 booths... Said they cant get them. Just an FYI
even if you order it on the first day. the shipping date is also 11/30. the mint stated that this issue will be ship late.
2009 lincoln professional life mint roll - 233,849 2009 lincoln 4 pc proof set - 145,813 2009 lincoln 5 pc chronicle proof set - ??? (max. 50,000) why not issue a large cent for collectors?.
