Lincoln Set limited to 1 per customer... (family, friends) I'll sell the Silver Dollar and get the cents for free.... If they look good...off to PCGS they go...:hail::hail::hail::hail:
since there is not for sale yet. i think the limit is between one per family to five. no way it can be 10.
Too many spots on too many coins coins I got my set on Monday and was a bit disappointed in the quality. The Lincoln cent (formative years) had numerous white splash type dots on it. As if someone sneezed on it. The quarters had shiny nicks in the frosty devices that, to me, were unacceptable. I'm shipping it back tomorrow for a replacement. And I'm asking for a refund of my shipping charges. The Mint will credit your account only, if you ASK them to. Bruce
Got my clad proof sets today. Given that they are clad proofs, they look OK. Under high magnification I can see lots of small issues, but if I wanted PF 70 I wouldn't shop at the mint lottery. It would take I don't know how many sets to get that one choice one.
Look at the mintage on the 2001 Buffalo commem and check out the price to purchase one.......high mintage, high demand, high price.
silver proof set might be better than clad proof set this time. dark house might be the mint uncirculated set.
I am a little skeptic of those numbers Elaine. I believe current ebay price for bidders is about $55 for the proof. $65 for "Buy it now." And I haven't been watching the unc as I didn't buy any and don't plan on buying any. On the high end, I have seen more than a few sell for $80.
all prices i have mentioned are u.s. mint prices. and they are not available at this time. as for correction: i should have use mint last price $33.95 for unc and $41.95 for proof
why the cardboard printing background on the 2009 clad proof set were so blurred?. as you compare it to all those previous sets. this time is so terrible. what is the reason/s behind it?. anyone?.
i should said the printed design and color on the cardboard was so lightly done. i prefer the older 1999 to 2008.
All of my 09 Clad sets have been sold. I broke even. I will be looking at the next coin show to see if one exist that does not have problem coins in them. I think its going to be easier finding some nice VF-AU Bust Halves. The quality of the sets I received was shotty, One of the lincolns should of been pulled and spent.
I'll wait for the clad set and get it with the Silver set. I need both for my Dansco's. The benefit of getting both is you can select the best of two Cents, Nickels and Dollars as they are both the same.
Elaine, what have you been smoking....hehehehe, just kidding. Do you mean the Baby blue color? Mine looks fine except I don't really like the baby blue color very much. I got 4 sets, and I was amazed at how nice every coin was. I only found one lincoln that had a water spot on it, and it was a "cabin cent" that had spots on the obverse only. There was one Sac that had an ever so slight smear on the obverse, everything else was really nice. I went over all of them very close and only found the those problems. It's kinda neat to see some proof coins before the business strikes come out.
I agree, it seems sort of plain. Maybe they should have used the flag design on the reverse side on both sides?
Okay, I see what you are saying. The real light baby blue and the white + clouds. After looking back in this thread, I might have gotten lucky with the quality on these. Most don't seem pleased. My rolls of business strikes were shoddy, but these 4 sets look good except one cent and the one Sac.
