Not really, but it was something like $35 or 40 if I recall correctly, for the set. However, looking at how much people are paying for the PF70 sets. Oh my... I could have used that money for better things for sure though.
I normally return the sets with spotted coins for a refund. Then repurchase them later when I am ordering new items, and then only if they are not backordered. I've found that the backordered notice is a flag for getting others' returns.
I received my silver proof set today. The Lincoln proofs are much better. Dag gum it. I should have just waited as I stated before. Ah well. As usual, there is always something seemingly wrong with the sets I order. It looks like there is cotton or something like that on the reverse of the Sacagawea proof dollar. Fortunately my clad proof set's Sacagawea proof isn't like that though.
Just received my 2009 silver proof set, the coins are in good shape with no damage that I can see. Except for one of the boxes that hold the coins has the end flap bent back , shoooooot . I know picky picky picky, but as long as these coins were in good shape there keepers. Geeeeez I hate a small flaw like that but oh well , the coins are beautiful. Got here a lot faster than usual & thats cool , love the luster of these proof coins, I guess thats why I'am hooked on collecting them.
Recieved 4 silver sets last week and all look great. Guess the mint had a talk with PBGS, I see where the shipping time is better, in fact I ordered some rolls of quarters at 1am this morning and had conformation and a tracking number at 4 this afternoon. Same day shipping, either I am ordering way to much from them or they hired someone from Amazon to get things done. Bill :smile
Received my replacement silver proof set today. One Lincoln cent has a spot on it! This is just ridicules. I am calling the mint tomorrow about this and I want a set that is not flawed. I paid shipping to receive a flawless set once and they better not make be pay again. Q&A at the mint stinks lately. Been buying coins for years from them and all of a sudden I get coins with spots on them! Just had to vent guys and gals !!!

I sure hope they get this spot thing fixed before I order my sets. I'm still waiting for the mint sets before I get the Proof's.
I got my replacement sets. All is well I THINK. I believe there is a small spec of dust under one of the Lincoln cents. I thought at first it was another spot on the coin but it looks like it is in the holder om the inside. I am pleased!
i received in another 2 sets from the mint today and they look just as nice as the first 2 sets i purchased. no problems on any of the coins:thumb:
I returned two of the first silver sets I recieved due to spots on the pennies. I just received a replacenment order and one of the pennies looks like it has a metal flaw in the background of the obverse that has already begun to discolor and tone around the flaw. The rest of the coins, especially the silver quarters look great. I guess I have one more return trip to the processing center....at least.
Now this makes me wonder what happens to all these sets that get returned. Do they do the right thing, or do they put them back in stock and ship them to the next guy that places an order.
i am just glad that the 4 sets i did order came to me nice and crisp looking. no problems what so ever. i placed 2 diffrent orders.
i am scarce to buy more silver, clad proof set. the coming lincoln proof set. because it might give me those returns from others. there were plentiful of problem lincoln proof cent.
I still say that the 2009 silver proof set is heading for the rarest one in a decade. It has to be a keeper despite the issues with the lincoln set.
I am in big agreement with your feelings as well. Bad economy, fewer coins mints, fewer folks purchasing all adds up to a pretty good set. Plus add in the Lincoln cent fever and the territorial quarters and the new Sac. dollar and 90% silver coins and it has the makings of a winner.
