Has anyone actually seen a 2009 $2 (L) SF star note? Supposedly a very limited run of 128K. I have never seen it offered and the BEP does not offer any info either. Guess we have a mystery note here.
I have an active FOIA case with the BEP through the Treasury Department on this very subject. I started the case about a month ago and should have an answer soon.
Well that is very interesting, look forward to hearing what their answer is. B & K are quite available so far as I can see.
A similar FOIA request for the series 2003A $2 San Francisco star notes resulted in an admission of destruction. This series, like series 2009, had reports of notes being printed and never showing up in circulation.
