these do appear a little to be from the same die , if they are the photos make them look a bit different. anyway the die variety attributors don't assign the same number to each die variety as the others do . they should work more closely together but they don't. I agree with you that die chips are good die markers but the ones with large die chips are worth keeping .
the die that struck this one sure had some problems. is this a real US coin or is it a Chinese fake? I always check mine with a magnet. a magnet will stick to the older Chinese fakes , I have heard that the newer Chinese fakes are non macnetic. this will make them harder to detect. I have a fake peace dollar that looks real but it is magnetic.
thats a good looking old peace dollar and a nice keepsake . I have been keeping coins in my collection for a long time. when silver went over 40.00 a ounce a little while back a lot of mine got melted. then a little later on some of it got stolen. I still enjoy what I have left.
Thanks! Yeah I was wondering where it was going... Are these DDR's really that common? I see a ton of different ones on coppercoins and lcr but I've only found the one. I would think with that many different varieties that I'd have seen one before.
you are probably looking thru the regular circulation coins. I have never seen one in the coins from banks. most of these are being found in the special wrapped coins in the little white boxes. I bought a few of the formative years boxes and probably have over 100 of the two best varietys. I believe I just got lucky and got the right dated boxes.
Yeah I'm just going through the boxes that the bank gives me. Like I said, I only get 1-3 of them per box. I still think they'd be more common since there are so many different variations.
I can't wait to get my fathers coins, lots of gold, he likes the early gold commemorative (1903-1926) all graded by pcgs, I know for sure is grant star is ms-67, his grant no star is ms-67, his sesquicentennial is a ms-65, need regrade, and a lot more, hes very rich, lots of money
when I had my ebay store open, I put them in there for fun, lots of offers, but were real never for sale
How do you know this is not true ? Now tell the truth , how many of the die #1 and die #2 coins have you found from the coins that were put into circulation ? personally I searched thru close to a million of the 2009 cents meant for circulation and never found even one of the extra finger coins from either one of the different dies. like I said earlier I bought a few of the white boxes of the collector coins and found plenty of the best varietys plus some of the lesser types. probably a lot of people don't like me letting the cat out of the bag but I like to see everyone have a chance at getting things .
I got some normal OBW rolls and pulled tons of DDRs from them...granted, no die 1 or 2, but I would average 20 of the same DDR per roll.
you sure had better luck than I did with the bank rolls. too bad they were not the die 1 or 2 coins . I wonder if anyone ever found one of the die 1 or 2 coins from a bank roll.
First of all, let's go back and take a look at what was actually said/posted: Even though this was directed at non cents, you responded with: While you did mention the two varieties, it was done as an afterthought and not in direct response to furryfrog's question. As worded, he asked about 09 VARIETIES; not just those two, so as answered, your response was incorrect. DDRs can easily and often be had from bank rolls. As for your question, the only rolls I searched came from broken boxes, so I cannot say, nor do I really care where the two varieties came from. If you truly searched through “close to a million” 09 cents (or upwards of 400 bank boxes), the chances of not finding any varieties was basically ZERO, so if true, you should not have had a problem answering the OP’s question. As for the claim itself, you were either very lucky in being able to get pallets of LP2-P boxes at face, wasted a lot of money, or are prone to exaggerations; no offense, but I am betting on the latter.
What have you been drinking or snorting ? If this is not the case then who pulled your strings today ? There is no need for you to get on my case because I never bothered you . and no I do not exaggerate about anything and don't tell lies. If you don't believe me about finding over 400 of the ultra detached leg 2005 bison nickels and about the 100 DDR die 1 and die 2 2009 cent coins send me your email address thru this forum and I will send you a email with my home address and you are welcome to come visit me and see the coins. Now leave me alone and go find someone else to have your peeing contest with.
It was a simple reply, Mr. Hotshot... no need to throw a hissy or take it personally. Do you actually read the posts or just make assumptions? No one questioned your nickels or mint roll finds, so where did this come from? Any news on the IGC "major die clash"?
so now you are into name calling which is against the CT rules . in answer to your second question ] yes I do read all posts and tell the truth in what I say. look at post #37 where you accused me of exaggerating about the LP2 boxes of the cent coins. don't you think this is questioning my mint roll finds ? in answer to your third quote ] Now I'm wondering why my ICG die clash coin should bother you , why do a few members think they can use this against me , but I will tell you that it has a nice place in my error and variety collection and was examined again by IMO one of the very best die variety experts out there and he said he could not see any reason to think ICG had it labeled wrong. I thought it was a dropped element coin so I was wrong and ICG was right. so this is enough about my ICG graded and slabbed coin .
