2009 D Polk Dollar Weak Edge Lettering

    I am playing around with the camera microscope again and figured I would photograph a Polk dollar I found in circulation with weak edge lettering.
    Type B position if that matters.

    Yep. Mass production. These are produced for circulation, so their rate of production is faster than NIFC, and reduced QC…as evident in the splotchy surfaces and the weak edge lettering you pointed out. Gonna happen.
