2008 W - ASE 2 reverses error

I knew you would want one so I was going to put one aside for you, but now it seems like the odds are not in my favor. edited - a little too close to the edge there pal

HAHAHA. You're right. The entire coin was to change not just the reverse. Jeez. All he had to do was read the mint's press release on the new ASE.

 

Hey Laura -

Looked on the US Mint web site today and it said that they mailed them today. The good news is that there is a tracking number assigned so I know they definitely were mailed out. But now it is the waiting game. But after Silver Striker's post, I'm not getting my hopes up. I will keep you all posted.

 

I just ordered 4 from the mint. Would the mint remove these 07 Reverses out of stock?

 

I picked up 3 NGC70 ERs from a dealer. I figure I'm doing great with these. Looking forward to see what happens
to the coins in the next few years.

7 years of bad luck i got the 2007 box bit the 2008 eagle you cant really beat that in bad luck so i am quitting this exercise joe did you get yours yet?

 

Hang in there, try again. I have the lousiest luck in the world with winning lotteries, drawings, etc. But I ordered 2 on April 24 and both came back with the 2007 reverse. I was in total shock.

 

Ordered 5 on April 29th and they were shipped yesterday...so cross your fingers.

 

APMEX were selling the 2008-W with 07 reverse for 199 all last week, they are now gone.

 

Well, I recieved my second order of 2008 ASE today, and they are all .......
......................... 2008 reverse :goof: !!!

Oh well, so, that's still ok with me because now I have:

6 coins with the 2007 reverse:mouth:
4 coins with the 2008 reverse

Guess all the mint had left out of the approx 47,000 "error" coins, they've all been gobbled up....they are gone, baby gone!!!

The U.S. Mint is the place, unless you want to buy them second hand off e-bay, or a coin dealer.

R U ready Laura!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2 out of 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2007 REV!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nothing good like this happens to me! And after the week I had, I needed this! My wife thought we won the lottery the way I was hootin' and hollern' I swear I must have gotten the last two from the mint. It looked like all the people who ordered around the same time or after me got the 2008 in. I ordered mine on April 29th - they were mailed May 8th and I received them today (May 10th). That is the fastest I have ever received anything from the mint through snail mail. I wanted two - I would have been pumped with one, but two made me jump through the roof.

When I opened the box, all the boxes were open and the coins and contents were all over the place. I was thinking that someone went through everything and just threw the coins back into the box. The first coin I grabbed was an 08, then next was a 07! The fifth one I looked at was also an 07!

I did notice what Spock was talking about when he mentioned the different boxes. When the ASE W first came out I had ordered two long before the 07 REV was found. The boxes were larger like the previous years. These new ones are smaller, but thicker. All the coins were in these new boxes.

I would like to know did anyone order after April 29th and receive the 07s in???

P.S. you're right, the boxes are different between the two varieties. When I got mine today and they were all (4 of them) larger boxes and the UPC was on the bottom of the box instead of the side of the top lid, I kinda new my luck was about to change.... Oh well, at least I have both varieties now.

 

I almost thought I was going to have to beg you for one if I didn't get any.
