So I had a little bit of time to go through some coin rolls today and came across this one. (After 5 Canadian rolls)
At first I noticed it has a slight misalignment. Then as I looked closely at a different angle and noticed. Right above Oklahoma is missing part of nickel Clad layer.

    What do you think?
    Circulation damage or ?

It doesn't look like it is missing anything to me. If anything, it looks like it has acquired a stain during the 10+ years that it has been in circulation.

Hmm.. it is isolated. some what circular. I wonder what could have dissolved the clad layer.

I agree with Chris. It appears to be a stain

I thought the Oklahoma error was 1996. That's when I moved there. I corrected the error in 2016.

I agree. At some point, it must have had something drop on it to eat away at the layer.
Thank you all for your input. Very much appreciated!

I agree with the others that it is just environmental damage. Why not try an acetone soak and see if the "stain" or whatever it is, starts to go away.

It doesn't appear as if there was anything significant that was duso!ved, or eaten away. Just some chemical reaction that darkened the surface of the Cu-Ni clad layer
