Its not part of the design, thats for sure . Heres another angle of the ear, I turn the coin 90 degree from the first image
Heres another site, its all double ears too http://www.errorvariety.com/Doubled-dies/Doubled_Ears.html
It looks to me like a hit. The ear appears to have normal dimensions except where the metal was pushed slightly lower by the blow.
I will, I'll know tomorrow and ken seen the images too . As Ken would say: Make Sure You Bring It .. I also posted it on coneca, I received a 2008 in my change tonight . I'll bring it with me to match up too, but it does look a lot different then the one I found tonight, which is a great sign ..
It's definitely a hit. If it were a doubled ear it would look normal if you take the suspected doubling away. I've seen lots of hits like this. The lobe has been mashed flat.
I agree that it's a hit. obviously not a doubled die. If you take away the "doubled" part, then the ear appears smaller. What did Potter say?
Its been sent off . If you look at the first post the split follows the ear up ... A hit would never do that, it did take a 18x to see anything . Time for a new glass, 10x isn't enough on theses kinds of cents ...
