2008 Arizona Quarter

    I'm sure this isn't much of anything of making my quarter more valuable, but would love to know what this would be called. It seems its a drop of extra material when the quarter was stamped. I'm really wanting to learn the terminology for this type of thing....As always your help is appreciated and thanks for stopping by...Happy Hunting

    Die Chip to be precise.
    Not really any extra metal. The Die that was used to strike the Blank Planchet had a tiny spot that broke away leaving a hole. So the metal from the blank flowed into the hole. It's a common occurrence especially on these new Quarters. Nothing really major.
