Correct.. Struck through grease because of a worn die.

So what is it? Stuck thru grease or worn die, or both?

When the Die is reaching its end a Mint employee will wipe the die with a rag and the grease gets compacted in the incused areas not allowing it to strike a well struck coin.. That would be a worn die. Then the Die is replaced. It starts all over again.. They use several dies to strike coins every year. Understood?

Here is an example from my collection. Yes they can be attributed as a Mint error!
