Got this with some pocket change at Cumberland Farms today. It's just a misc error (off center) but I like the way this coin looks. The machine doubling on it is cool to me. Doesn't appear to be the 'ufo over the mountain' variety Thanks for reading. Joey
It's not an off center coin. It looks normal in your photos. Can you show us where/why it's off center? I don't even see a minor mis-aligned die in the pics. ?
Slightly Misaligned die strike. Rim looks thicker near 8:00 position. Probably from an inverted die strike where the Reverse die was the hammer and the Obverse die was the anvil.
I'll upload some better pics in a few. You can't see it unless you click on the photo and zoom in . Apologies.
try going to a well lit room. It looks like you searched out the darkest room possible then used the camera flash. Don't use the flash, use a bright room. Or, if possible lights from a 45 degree angle to the coin to prevent the light reflection from creating hot spots (too bright to see detail). This will also allow you to take a picture from directly above.
Here's some new pics , best I can do right now with my camera. Only thing I do have is a handheld 160x-200x microscope but hard to use cam while simultaneously holding the microscope (has knobs for focus and zoom)
Nice to see better pics. However, obverse looks normal. Reverse maybe a little bit misaligned. Not an off-center unfortunately.
