I have searched but not found any references to this 2007 P John Adams Presidential Dollar. It cam IMG_0024.JPG IMG_0024.JPG IMG_0025.JPG IMG_0026.JPG IMG_0028.JPG straight from a Mint Roll in 2007. Possible partial clipped planchette?

Delaminated planchet before strike? Nice find. Looks like that part of the planchet was missing before the edge lettering was produced.

Is the O in John Adams damaged or not fully struck? I can't tell from the pics. That may lend evidence to when during the mint process the damage occurred.

I am going to speculate the coin was damaged during the edge lettering process. Subsequently, that chunk of missing metal then caused 10,000 plain edge John Adams dollar coins.

No damage to the O. The damage stops just barely above the H.
