it might be toning, it might be an error. whatever it is, you don't have to attack people that don't agree with you. this is what this forum is for, learning. there is alot of things on here everyone dosn't agree 100% on. so sit down, read a few books about toning, and try to figure out what that is instead of putting people down like that. :)

Take it to a local dealer and see what they say? Also if you really believe it's an error of some type I think you can send it to a TPG for evaluation - it will cost you though. Some things are just too hard to tell without having the coin in hand, better yet take it to a couple dealers to get differing opinions.

    Good Luck!

MS70 will not remove toning, nic-a-lene only works if you wipe it with a cloth. Get yourself some E-Z-EST - that will do it.

I've reviewed the whole thread and I can't find any replies where you were attacked. I do find replies where you have "attacked" others though.

One person says that from the pictures they look the normal color You reply saying he needs thick glasses.
One makes a joke about a press operators Starbucks. You tell him to take up birdwatching because it's for the old and slow.
The one that comes closest to an attack on you "Hellooooooo ...you have nothing special...they are just quarters and they are worth $.25. Get over it already. Yeah, ok ..they look funny ...you're not rich. Every now and then you get new quarters that are discolored...no biggie." Only does because of an implication that you are not listening to what people are telling you. You ask if it is "Let your retarded brother use your computer day?"

None of those were attacks against you, and none were personal. Your replies were personal attacks.

You are going to need to develop a thicker skin or you are probably going to find yourself being offended a lot on this board and even worse if you go to man other online chat forums. This one is pretty easygoing.

That is why I don't collect Idaho quarters. Too many sensitive people out there.
After all, they (the mint) just forgot to wipe off the potatoes, no biggie.

Point taken maybe I was a little harsh on the comments! It's just Im not trying to b.s. anyone and Im not 16, I put these coins up on this forum not for approval but feedback from anyone who may have come across something like this on a coin and could shed some light!

yup, looks like they forgot to wash off the potatoes.

Seriously: It does look like a bad pre-mint washing.
Were they in the same roll? If so, it could have been a contaminant from the packaging.

Which is why I said what I did to begin with. I have seen coins just like them many times.
