2007 George Washington $1 Coin Cover

I ordered four of these sets. We'll see when I finally get them. That was one fast sell out. Maybe I should have bought more.

 

I think once the story of these having a quick sellout hits front cover of Coin World and other magazines you might see a jump in these. I will probably hold on to mine as these are cool collectibles.

 

"NGC will be recognizing coins submitted in U.S. Mint Official American Presidency $1 Coin Cover Series holders as "First Day of Mintage."

A comprehensive announcement and submission instructions will appear on our website on Monday, April 16, 2007. We encourage you to wait for this announcement before sending your coins.

There is no date sensitivity regarding this designation. NGC recommends that covers be kept in their shrink wrap outer holder for protection. Any coins submitted in a damaged holder will not be eligible for this designation.

If you would like to send coins to NGC prior to the announcement you will be contacted by NGC Receiving next week to review the certification options available to you. On your submission form, please provide contact information, either an email address or phone number, where you can be reached to discuss these options."

This is the word I'm gettting. Are these the first ever coins to get this designation? If so, it would seem as though their value will go through the roof.

 

so will the TPG's only grade them or will they also give them the old "First Strike' designation ....is this just another way the TPG's will artificially creat a demand... as ND86 has said, the coins inthe holder are only early minted coins, with very little to determine if the FDCC's were minted before or after the general circulating coins...

 

I'm actually going to start a collection of these. One for me and one for my son, they are pretty cool. Maybe he can learn who the Presidents are this way. I just hope they come out with some kind of book/folder to hold them.

 

Does anyone know if they make a plastic type folder to hold these in?

 

i still havent got my order for these. are they all sold out? the mint keeps pushing hte date back on my order. any ideas? where is ND86?

 

thanks. i am on back ordwr for month now every day they move my shipping day by one day. some of you may find that funny but i assure you its not a laughing matter

 

My order is on backorder as well. Keeps moving one more day later every time I check. I'm just waiting for the 'your item has been shipped' at the top, with a note on the bottom as you scroll saying that the order is canceled. That is one glitch in the Mint website that really irritates me.

 

thanks for letting me know. That would have broken my heart. now that i know beforehand it will be ok. I wonder why the mint didn't cancel the order of 100's by some dealers yet you and I have been left hanging?
