So do I, but I think most people just blow it off. I would suggest that everyone return these defects (the mint will pay for shipping BOTH ways).
I thought you had to return the complete order for a refund or exchange, I thought they don't take partial orders back. So I guess this mean you can return part of it for replacement!!
Absolutely, and if you call them after the whole transaction is over they will send you a check for the $10 or so dollars it costs to return it.
I'd be afraid to send a set back for replacement because of the chance that they had sold out on an item. I guess, as has already been suggested, you can buy one more than you really want and then send back the loser. :smile When the Mint receives back the rejects, do they sell them to someone else ?
I wasn't happy with one of my franklin commems and when I called the mint I was adviced not to return for exchange as they're not sure whether they can replace it.
My 3 Sets came Friday... I didn't look at them with a Microscope, but all look good to the naked eye... I also, picked up a 25.00 bag O'Quarters as I thought it'd be cool.... The bag was a lot smaller than I had imagined... I'm not even going to open them, the bag that is... I think it'd be cool to get a few bags of Dollars that way, if they went back to Silver Dollars, vs them god awful Sacajawowies.... Not that big on'em....
I just got my 2 sets in. One of the sets has what looks like some type of liquid drops on a few of the coins. It's already packaged up to be sent back. It really doesn't matter to me if I don't get a replacement because I paid for a near perfect set and thats what I want. There will be many more for sale somewhere. I don't think the quality is there as in past years but thats just my opinion.
Keeps reminding me of a classic Simpsons moment: Bart: What is this, a Chuck E. Cheese token? Marge: "It's a Sacagawea dollar. You can take it to the bank, and trade it in for a real dollar! Really tempted to make that my sig, lol...
