I bet this coins wieghs a bit less. I bet the are striations the go straight down perpendicular to the cut. Not parralel with the cut like you would see if a diamond lathe or some kind of other rotary device were used. One of the cuts starts from just inside the rim wheree half of the rim was struck up fully except where the cutmarks starts. if someine just went around the rim with ''snips of anykind this could not happen and the coin would feel like a sawblade. The only way someone could have done this themselfs woud be to make two cuts into each of the ''cutmarks' at different angles then pulled the sliver of of the 'cutmark'' like a piece of pizza. then repeat this on all ''cutmarks'' on bothsides of the coin with perfect symmetry on all of the cuts and on both sides of the coin. The proof is there for this to be a plausable error but there are no good scans and and he as not said anything to indacate he excepts your PMD Opinion or anything else. You should know that you either need really high res scans/microscope/good loop pic or the coin on your desk to say for sure. And i bet this coin wieghs a . less then 100 other dimes of that year wieghed side by side.
