Hi guys found another cool note today and wanted to share, I wanted to ask 2 things, is this considered a bookend or are bookends 2 digit front and end? and how can you safely remove ink from a note? this probably isnt fancy enough to be worth anything "darn that 6 for not being a 4 lol" but it has a cool number rating of 97.6 and I want to keep it. I read acetone is the safest way to remove ink so I was wondering if it works and is it ok to use? and I want to say sorry for picture quality, im in the process of getting a better set up :) bookends1.jpg bookends2.jpg

Personally, I wouldn't consider this note a candidate for conservation.
    Close but no cigar.

Like I said darn the 6 for not being a 4, the actual question is IF I wanted to keep this note for my own purposes. how would you or anyone proceed to take the ink off the note without ruining it?

Anything you do to remove the blue ink from a pen is going to remove the green ink from the government. It's not a keeper. That 2 digit miss is a miss by a mile. :sorry:

Don't know about acetone on a note, but my wife always uses 90% isopropyl alcohol to remove ink on my clothes...a common problem for old, clumsy me...and I suspect Collecting Nut is correct about removal of original ink. Why not try it on a different note; ink it up and try removing it. Let us know what happens.
