Don't give up hope yet. I didn't order my sets until May 27th and they have kept moving back my date also. Today I checked and it now says "In stock & reserved".

I ordered two sets because I wanted to give one to my son and keep one. I had no idea these coins would cause such a flurry of activity and interest. I am glad to know the mint is fufilling the orders they took, even late comers like me.

I want to say, "Have Faith, Tan!" I finally got mine today, after lots of backorder notices, an "in stock and reserved" notice, and finally a "shipped today" one. Still it took a week to get mine after the shipped notice, so hang in there, there's still a chance! I sincerely hope you get yours soon.

    Finally

They kept moving the date back. The last date was 7/14. I just checked the web site and it says shipped on 7/3 which is today a Sunday, but i'll take it. :p :p :p

    grovey,

I ordered my 5 sets on 5-25 at 2pm and I received them this past Friday. Have faith, they look great. The only complaint i have is that the medal is unprotected.

I received mine on Thursday. I can't believe they didn't protect the medal! I am beginning to collect comments about the quality of mint items and their customer service. Once all are compiled, I am going to contact my senators, Arlen Specter, and Rick Santorum. Something has got to be done about the mint at the legislative level. I might even send them two proof coins, one from the 60's and a current one so that they can compare the quality. This shallow strike and "spaghetti hair" crap has to stop.

You could have ordered them from the Mint. But these particular sets are already sold out. So if you want one, ebay is the place to look.

I just got my five sets today. I think I will sit back for a while before selling the three I am not putting into my collection. Will they will clear the $100.00 mark in the next six months?

I/ve been watching ebay on and off for the last 2 weeks. They have averaged between 55-65 with a few going higher. Also, that amount of sets for sale 2 weeks ago were around 85. Today it is at 140. I would assume that as the backlog comes down, more sets will be out there and could bring the price down as some on these boards think it was way too hyped to begin with. When I get my 5 I will sell two right away in an attempt to get my investment back. I will hold two for my collection and leave 1 for future sale.

In the past two weeks the average price went from about 64 to about 55. It looks like its rapidly heading way south of 50 which causes a quandry. Do you sell the sets 1 at a time, or do you put them all up at once, thus competing with yourself?

    finally!!

I received notification that my set had been shipped on Sunday (who knew they even worked on Sunday? Monday was a holiday so no mail nothing Tuesday, went to the mailbox today...nothing...walked back to my house dejected...and there it was on my doorstep.I guess the box was too big for my mailbox. After all of that..IMHO..the set is a bit cheesy, especially the medal which appears to be chrome plated,But I'm still happy.

Mik, I agree with you; the set does look a little cheesy, but it is easier to say that when they are in your hand. My three sets showed to be shipped on Sunday also, and arrived today too.

The Medals looks pretty cheap actually, but at least the side showing doesn't appear to have any scratches, etc. on any of them.

    Mik, Kort,
I would be happy just to get mine off backorder. What day did you order. I/m trying to get an idea when mine might be shipped. I ordered on the 27th of May around 5pm.
    Thanks

FPP, I ordered my 3 sets on 5/26, but I don't remember the time. They kept moving my backorder date back until 7/16/05, then on about 6/30, it was showing as in stock and reserved, and then showing as shipped on 7/3/05 and delivered on 7/6.

FYI, I usually have received the order from the US Mint by the time it says it was shipped. They must be using some update from other computers to update the website, because it is always a couple of days behind the actual action. As a result, I think they automatically show the backordering moving a day at a time, until the item is confirmed or it is actually in stock. Not a bad system, but is very frustrating at times. GOOD LUCK!!

    Westward Sets

    Finally!
After several long months of waiting and anticipation, the sets finally arrived. Having both the 2004 & 2005 sets is great.

Question...does the mint plan on doing a four coin medal set this year with the different (new) jeffersons?
