Screenshot_2015-05-31-04-46-27.png 20150531_044458.jpg At first I thought that the buffalo penis was an error so I researched the nickel. The penis is normal but an error found on 2005 P mint mark nickels is a floating leg making it a 3 legged buffalo. I think that this nickel that I found in pocket change is 1 of those 3 legged buffalo nickels. Can someone please enlighten me? Thank you all so much for your input.

It appears that the die was over-polished.

yes its referred to as the detached leg bison and is a result of over polishing as chris stated..

These were promoted in 2005-06 but have since sunken into obscurity. The so called "speared Bison" is still in demand today.

Other '05s fallen out of the limelight, are the "shackled", "2-horn", & "unicorn", but still out there.
