    Nope. Sorry. Not possible.

No, not a dime planchet, it's the zinc core you see under the peeling copper plate.

Yes, it is possible, but not in this particular case.

How is it possible? I don't see how what OP said could be possible at all.

I mean it really depends how you read it, I read it as, a one cent piece was struck on a dime planchet (or blank) and, there was an lamination peel that exposed the copper. That’s not what the OP has, but it seems possible.

I mean I guess that is possible albeit VERY unlikely. Definitely not what OP has though. Not even close.

2005 Lincoln on dime planchet is possible.

Yes but not where 1 side is copper and the other is CuNi like a normal dime would be unless it's like @Sullysullinburg said. Highly unlikely I think.

It's hard to understand anything the OP post.

The OPs coin is a peeling penny. It could be a partially plated zinc blank, too.
The zinc core is exposed. It is not CuNi on one side.

PS: A dime planchet will fit into a penny collar.

reads some weird error .. then tries to "fit that error" into some Damaged coin in his possession.

Looks like it has been tinned with solder.

Now that you mention it, that seems even more plausible to me. "Exposed zinc core beneath peeling copper plating" seemed right, based on one of those pictures, but after your comment I took another look at the photos in the OP.

Guess I don't really know, but I do think that might be it.

That's what I first thought too .. but figured I was nuts anyways ...
looks like a nice drip and spread of solder but I was unsure of the lamination issue, etc.

What's odd is it looks like in the first pic that the cent was put in a rolling machine of some sort to bevel the outer edge. Must just be my eyes though.

Since the dime is smaller than the cent, you wouldn't have full cent rims.
It would also be the color of a dime.

The copper rim belies the dime planchet story....
