Hello everyone and Happy Mothers day to all the moms on this forum. I have a 2005-P Kentucky state quarter with a die break possibly definitely too big to be a die chip. It's on the reverse side the door to the house Your input is appreciated tyia
All I see is terrible pictures with squiggly lines all over a worn Kentucky quarter. You can’t see any die breaks or chips nor can you tell how worn it is. You can see it is worn and has corrosion…I think. Whoever you paid to take those pictures needs to be fired and his camera thrown in the trash. And I hope you can get your money back…imo…Spark
I believe I see what you are referring to. If it's not caused by circulation flattening it might be a die chip, JMO.
I took more pics I hope these are better and I have a samsung s23 ultra I just suck at taking photos sometimes
Just got here this morning. What are we looking at? Can you add arrows to the area in question? I don't see anything but circulation damage.
The normal design of the quarter has the left side of the door more prominent than the right. The coin is heavily circulated and I just can't tell if there is a die chip or just circulation damage on the left side of the door. If there is anything it is very minor.
This is a 2001-P Kentucky state quarter not a 2005-P I am totally surprised nobody noticed that happy I caught it b4 anyone else lol
Here is the pf. There are two star above the Lintel. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1849523078...mid=AVKISS_US_COINSANDPAPERMONEY&toolid=10050
You are looking in the right area for a majority of the DDRs created by the single-squeeze method (center bullseye). I believe the majority of the more valuable DDRs display doubling away from the center, but it’s always a good place to check. You’ll also note that there are a number of unattributed doublings as a result since it’s rather common, especially among LMCs leading up to the 2009 series.
The second batch of photos is much better, but I still can't see anything that looks like it doesn't belong except some wear and damage. As mentioned above, some arrows pointing to what you see would be helpful.
Thank you everyone for your input for input and I have 5 pics that I put yellow arrows pointing to both spots that i think may be big die chips or die breaks. When I looked at the quarter online on pgc of course it was a mint like 68 I did not see that on the door or the window above door. Then I saw another Pic online of a definitely circulated coin and I think I saw the same thing around the door and same window. So idk if it's it's junk or it's maybe something. When I try to take photos during the day today I am hoping to get much better photos and if I do I will post them. Thank you everyone
These are much better pictures, and the arrows definitely show more what you are seeing. Unfortunately, I (not an expert) think it is all just normal wear and tear pushing the metal around a bit. Even if there is a small die chip in there somewhere, it is so small as to be insignificant. Sorry I can't give better news.
