Is this coin what is called a doubled ear? Surely I'm not sure.. still new at this. S20191019_0001.jpg S20191019_0002.jpg S20191019_0003.jpg S20191019_0004.jpg S20191019_0005.jpg S20191019_0006.jpg S20191019_0007.jpg

Interesting look. You’ll often notice MD at the tip of the ear (shelflike appearance). This looks more like a blob - thickness in the lobe. Considering how the working hubs are made, doubling generally occurs around the center of the coin. This is confirmed by the plethora of DDRs around Lincoln in the Memorial and the Ocean nickels. I’ve not heard anything about the Lincoln bust but the earlobe is at our about the center.

I don't think so. The doubled ear is very distinct.

It’s certainly not like the ‘typical’ double ears. But the thickness has me curious. I’d like to see another 2005 aside this one.

Looks like one is thicker as you previously said. Im just so unsure about these coin errors.

Improper lighting with shadows that make a well struck coin/ear appear doubled at the ear lobe. Here is yours (1st image) next to a 2005 example that @Rick Stachowski posted in the other tread about a 2005 doubled ear. Notice the ear has the same shape and size as yours. Looks normal to me.
    It’s just what I see.

It's looking like it may be a bit of die wash based on the comparison coin. Other details look a little 'duller' on your subject coin. The detail in the hair and the lobe on the comparison coin appear sharper, but size appears correct. Thanks for the extra photos.
