Most people, when they see "something different" believe it must be a mint error and go searching for an answer and thus totally disregard all the possibilities of damage that a coin may go through after leaving the US Mint.</p><p><br /></p><p>If your dime is of a feeding finger, then it won't be the clad material. It's weight will be way high and probably not round at all (look at the examples on that webpage).
