(they had many surplus that were originally intended for circulation that they&#039;re still trying to sell off to collectors.)</p><p><br /></p><p>Not sure about the Sacagaweas... as far as I know they only mint as many as they expect to sell until the year&#039;s over, so usually don&#039;t have surplus anyway.&nbsp; But since the president dollars have been minted, legislation requires them to mint a Sacagawea for every 2 presidential dollars minted, so starting 2007 they may have ended up with unsold ones at the end of the year.&nbsp; No idea what they&#039;ll do with them all, whether they&#039;ll try to keep selling them, melt them down, or just stick in the vault... banks aren&#039;t likely to order any (to the degree anyone needs small dollars the SBAs and 2000-2001 Sacagaweas are enough for current needs, mainly vending machines and ticket machines.&nbsp; Be awhile before anyone decides they need any more...).&nbsp; Myabe they&#039;ll try to sell them off, or maybe they&#039;ll be in the vault for years (like the Morgans, until the 60&#039;s...).</p><p><br /></p><p>Anyone know for sure?[/QUOTE]</p><p><br /></p>
