I was in retail management for a long time and when I had to count down 4-12 drawers I went through every coin and bill I always had 100 dollars on me though I think I only came close 1 time to ever needing it as I did run into a 3 star notes a 2 10s and a 5 and almost 3 rolls of 64 quarters when people would pay in rolls of change we had to break them open not sure how many the cashier went through in making change but there were 108 of them which was a nice catch and then the normal stuff of wheats buffalos and 1 or 2 pre 64 dimes and quarters on every cash drawer and even a half here and there on maybe once every week or so and errors and I did this for years... and every week I got at least a roll of quarters and about a half roll of dimes pre 64 as well as a star note at least 2 a week if not more and errors of all kinds... I put my cash in exchange and it was no big deal upper management said it was fine as long as they balance. Did I rip people off?? I ran the cash drawers on occasion and would not tell people oh here that is a 1958 dime do you have a newer one??? It is the persons responsibility to know. Now had it been a 1932 s quarter I might have said something but otherwise it was day to day I made some good money a few years back from it I have to say in the junk coins like another retirement What gets me is the coin dealers that will walk into a widows house and her husband has past and maybe he has a small or modest collection or even an extensive one like I am working with now and offer 1000 dollars for 25000K or more worth of coins So I help out with my mothers friends on antiques and coins and items of collections and they give me 3% of what the net total made is they can by their prescriptions I know my mother had 1 prescription that went from 5 dollars to 258 dollars for the same thing because the Medicare does not cover it nor does the tie in for her breathing treatments and the coins I sold of my own pay for her medicine or help out as she has not gotten a raise in Social Security for 3 years either I guess when people get older the younger folks just try and find ways to kill them off...Who determines the cost of breathing? If you need the medicine why does it go up 4000 times the cost 2 years ago and why do you have to pay more for medicare if you already paid in the same with social security?? If the money had been invested in long term stocks our older people would be getting 10-15% more coverage in healthcare as well as 12% raises every year in social security which is supposed to be its own program untouched by any other program...So yeah the coin dealers and other antique people that come in to rip off these old folks better hope they save that money cause there will not be those programs for them Ok sorry for the hijack back to OP topic the cancer guy just got to me
You will see people commenting like this from time to time. It's not all of them but there are a few bad eggs. My advice is to "ignore" the ones that antagonize you. I have almost left this forum because of some people here. Now I just hit ignore. You shouldn't be treated like that. You did what most of us would have done.
