Just one more thing the Indians are doing to get even with us for the past. They are spreading rumors of how fantastic a Saquwguia, or however it is spelled, is to collect and they have billions that they made on the sly. These will flood the market, bring in enough money to retake thier land. :smile
Some of the 2000Ps go for a lot more. http://www.cointalk.org/showthread.php?t=8789&highlight=cheerios
Quite honestly after most dealers and collectors got stuck holding tons of 2000 clad and silver proof sets so they made a very wise decision in 2001 (they thought) and that was to NOT order so darn many. So the mintages are lower and the demand has steadily grown as more and more folks entered the statehood quarter collecting circles. I might add the 1999 silver sets made a big drop over the last two weeks! If a collector is sitting on a bunch of statehood proof sets (99 to present) I sure wouldn't want to be holding them at the end of the statehood program as folks will turn to other areas and the Mint is going to continue to put bait out for all of us in the upcoming future. Those proof sets will DROP like a rock when the program ends! And, we don't have long to find out if I am right or wrong!
I totally disagree. Prices will sky rocket at the end of the program. Demand will be huge due to unprecidented promotions. This will be huge.
I agree, once the whole series of SQ is avalible as a comlete set many people will want to aquire high grade collections of the UNC,proof and espescially silver proof SQ. FOLKS who were teenagers when the program started in 99 will now have disposible income,i think the complete silver set will go thru the roof.
2001 Sac It's funny you mention that, my local dealer's got an '01 proof he's selling for 80 bucks, and I'm thinking of going and grabbing it. Just got the '02, and '03 proofs last week. Fortunately, I got them for about 6 bucks under cat. value. Fred:hatch:
