I think our coinage is terrible and disgraceful. It corrodes, fades, just about literally falls apart. I guess ceasing the minting of our penny is better than what we are putting out. I would ask, no beg....the people responsible for minting this crap to go back and use better materials, not saying upping the copper back to older standards, but maybe limit the output to say, 25,000,000 / year.... instead of the trillions of third-world looking crap we call a penny today, (not to say that 3rd world countries aren't doing a better job)........sorry just venting, but I am sure many out there feel the same
Actually, the US Mint makes the circulated junk for commerce; to be used as money. With no forethought that people actually want to collect it as that's what they make the Proof and other uncirculated coins for.
Yes to a stain. I'd say a pee stain but I don't want to hear you groan. Not pee but definitely a stain.
So besides the semi circle that looks like a stain, I was also looking at the lines. Prob scratches I guess. thanks guys!
thank you...i didnt realize this fact when i wrote my post...for some reason i still do like "pennies" better though regardless of the general terminology consensus
In numismatics, Cent is the correct term and You'll find most experienced collectors will use that on CT. However, penny has been used interchangeably, so it's not really a big deal. As long as you know the difference, use the one you like.
