    Hi guys,

I found this 2001 P Roosevelt Dime and was wondering if this error is considered a Broadstroke or a Misaligned Die? I see the rim is partially flat on both sides so was a bit confused as to which error this could be? Is it common for this to happen on both the obverse and the reverse?

Looks like it is a minor broadstrike. Compare it to another dime. If it is bigger than a normal dime, even if just a little bit, it is a broadstrike.

Is it common to have a broadstrike on the obverse and the reverse?

It doesn't happen only on one side. It's always on both sides. Here:http://www.error-ref.com/broadstrikes/

It appears to me to be a slight MAD (NAV and very common) and was struck with a very worn die as evident by the metal flow lines. A spender in my opinion.

I don't think it is a Brodstrike. You can tell that the Reeding is present. You don't see the reeding when it's a Broadstrike. I say minor Dual Misaligned strike.

Hmm... I don't think the dime is a perfect circle. Looks like it is a bit egg shaped to me on the top right. But maybe it is just the MAD messing with my eyes. Did you check if it is the same size as other dimes?

I don't see a broadstruck coin. I see a misaligned die struck coin.

As I line this dime up with another dime, this dime appears to be the same size as a dime without errors.

    Then it is a MAD.

    It’s a misaligned strike... not a broadstrike...I’ll keep it... put it in A 2x2
