On obverse there is 1 next to 1 in 2001. Or is it pareidolia? These days i can't tell. Help?

Some people might think it is the result of a dropped element, but it should not be thicker than the "1" in the date. Therefore, I think it is just an unusual stain that was acquired while it was in circulation. ~ Chris

Ok, i seen on one of the sites there was a dropped D and the D was larger and the explanation was it was because of the filling being flattened made the dropped letter larger. PHOTO #4) Note that on this example, the metallic dirt has fallen out leaving an incuse and inverted image of the letter ("D"). The dropped letter "D" may seem a little larger than the original "D" above it because the metallic dirt was flattened during striking.(ngccoin.com). That's why i believe it is a dropped element 1 from date.

To me it doesn't look like a 1 but rather a fat 3/4 capitol I. It's not an error, just from 19 years in circulation.

The problem i have with that is the question of how it got there. It's an incused impression. I just looked again with my 5x loupe from different angles and i can see where the top of the anomaly is damaged so on the pics it doesn't look like a one to you. I can see that it's a 1. I will try to take better pics.

There is one more area on this coin i would like to ask about. On the reverse there is an anomaly in the word "ocean", I'm trying to identify. I am thinking a piece of debris. Any opinions? 0220-34.jpg 0220-20.jpg 20200221_160147.jpg 20200221_155800.jpg
