Genuine. Not outside the range of acceptable.
If a potion of the print were missing and had the print of another note at the edge, you'd have something special. Like this:

So it is real then? But still only worth $20? Just making sure I understand your information.

    Yes, it's real and it's worth $20.

    I agree with @rickmp.

The margins are at a point where it is considered a poorly centered note, and not bad enough to be considered an error. Genuine and lightly circulated with a stain on the upper left margin, and soft corners.

Or somebody cut it like that from a sheet hoping they'd get a premium for a so called BEP error

The OPs 20 is not from an uncut sheet, though.

Thanks guys. I'm not educated on all this.. I just recieved this $20 bill and thought it looked strange. I'm just glad it isn't fake. I thought someone might have pulled a fast one on me.

As far as I can tell, BEP didn't sell uncut sheets from that series of twenties.

    I have a four-specimen sheet of Series 2004 FRN with serial numbers GA00153516*, GA00165516*, GA00177516*, and GA00189516*

You may have that. I'll take your word for it.
    The OPs $20 is a series 2001.

No uncut sheets in that series were sold by BEP.

    Oh!

I saw your image instead of the OPs.

    My bad.
