    Even for an impaired proof, it is FUGLY! You could probably buy the entire 5-coin set for that year still in the OGP very cheaply. Is it silver or clad?

    Yes, it does have some impairment, and I believe they did make both clad and silver proofs for the entire State Quarter series.

    But the reason I like this coin, in all its’ permutations, is it is one of my favorite designs…absolutely love the tall ships ( “…and a star to steer her by…”)…Spark

    I like finding proof coins, I hate seeing them after they've circulated a bit though.

    Full disclosure…the paraphrase in my previous post was an excerpt from the famous poem “Sea Fever” by John Masefield…I have it book marked and read it frequently…the reference was used also by Captain James T. Kirk in one of the original Star Trek episodes in the ‘60s…Spark

    I refuse to nerd out, but I know the episode,,,, and the more current Star Trek movie it was also in (although the movie was in the 1980s)
