2000 D 1C Lincoln Cent - Groove

Discussion in 'Coin Roll Hunting' started by Cole Ringer Coins, May 19, 2024.

  1. Found this Lincoln cent with a groove around the edge, sort of like a 2 cent euro but weighs 2.5. I think I've read that this cannot occur during minting so is this PMD?

Is there an actual ridge that can be felt with your fingernail? Or is it just a stain like from being in a cup holder or something similar?

I seen those sell from a buck to a buck three eighty nine on eBay, but they were in much better condition than yours. Come to think of it I've seen a potato chip in the shape of a camel sell for $25,000. I mean, if you collect potato chips, too. :D
