Hoping for happy hunting this evening. I am betting 0% silver. They are all hand rolled but the wrappers are recent and neat.

good luck & don't forget about rotation errors and missing FG initials.

I found 10 silver halves. Five were 1964's, One 1959 (surprised at that) and four 40%-ers.

What errors should I be looking for?

There's a thread that outlines everything fairly well in the US coins section. :)

I think you hit the jackpot. My luck on finding silver has been on a pretty steady decline in recent years. I feel I may not be the only roll searcher of halves in the area anymore!

  7. That is awesome. Check that 1959 Franklin to see if it is a Type 2 reverse and/or a DDR. Congrats. TC

How the heck do you see that DDR? I'm pretty sure the one I pulled a few days ago is a type 2... but the DD I'm not sure.

  9. Here is a great CT link that will explain it all:

I used to search rolls with some success, but around here the silver seems to have dried up several years ago.

I turned them back in this afternoon and asked for cash. I got a 1993 $50 in pretty good shape. It's got a slight crease in the corner. Not sure if I'll keep it or not. I keep cash with me to buy up halves from random banks. I then take the unwanted halves back to my bank and get cash. Banks I don't have an account at normally won't redeem rolls. This is getting fun! I've got an appointment in a part of town tomorrow I don't go to often. Can't wait to hit up the banks there.
