i noticed another thing i found the last note on the 15th. i got this one on the 15th will i get the next one April 15th? stay tuned
Star notes aren't worth anything over face value, unless it is from a low run size...look them up on this web site http://www.geocities.com/stealth_cobra220/stars/lookup.html If the text box is a color other than white, its worth a little more. If the box is white, then just spend it there not uncommon.
I'm sorry to hear that. Hope you have better luck. I haven't had any luck with these prez dollars either. Good luck. Nice find DJ. Phoenix
I started looking through biils after this and I found a star $1 in 2 minutes. Later that day in my own collection I found that one of my crisp 1976 series $2 bills was a star note, too. Good day!
I have a 1963 $2 bill with a red serial no and mint mark and a $1 silver certificate series 1935F. Wonder if they are worth anything. I got both from circulation!
Im a clerk at seaworld and i come by at least 15 star notes a day i put them in the back of my draw in case some one ask from them, hasent happned yet i wish they would let me trade them but i cant.
What do you mean no mintmark? Are you talking about the letter that represents what federal reserve bank it is from? Do you have any pics? In circ. condition I think the 35 F goes for about 5 bucks. Not certain though. Awesome finding them in circ.! Phoenix
You should post this query to the PAPER MONEY Forum. Paper Money does not have a "mintmark" per say, as currency is not "minted" , but printed. Notes in recent years have been printed both at the BEP facility in Washington DC and in Fort Worth Texas. Although MOST small size notes say "WASHINGTON DC " either above or through the circular Treasury Seal on the right side, some notes have a tiny plate number on the lower right part of the bill. Some will have a number such as 'FW H 65. The FW denotes these notes as having been printed at the Fort Worth Texas BEP Facility. If you mean "mintmark" as pertains to the letter suffix after a series date, such as 2003, 2003A etc, the letter designations the "A", or "B" etc denotes a minor design change such as the the change in the signatures of the Treasurer, or Secretary of the Tresury. As far as value for a $1 1935F SC, or a 1963 $2 USN, If they are average circulated condition, I would value them as 2X face value. If near new condition, maybe 3X face value. IF CU "crisp uncirclated" a bit more. Bruce
Here is a picture of the two bills. I'm planning on keeping these - they aren't in crisp shape but not shabby either. Sorry about the post in the wrong forum. Thank much for all the comments!
Hooray Jackpot I found a star note (1!$ bill in circulation ) will wonders never cease? I think i got this from Taco Bell
Are you saying they are all worth over face ? or just the rare ones ? I come across star notes all the time and dont even keep them because I have always thought they were mostly worth just face.
This is in definite need of a transfer over to the Paper Money section,as this is a discussion about banknotes, not coins. Aidan.
