Thank you to all who participated in the first "Which would you buy?". I'm back with round 2. This time I decided to choose the 1798/7, 16 Stars Reverse, Draped Bust Dime in VF-20 and VF-25.

We won't be considering the cost factor of the subject coin because the majority of us can't afford it. Think if it was affordable for you, which would you choose? Or if you're not really a fan of any of the coins provided or draped bust dimes in general, you can vote "None of the above".

Please vote in the poll and don't forget to say why you picked the one you did if you choose to comment. I recommend viewing all the photos of each coin in the links provided.

Have fun and feel free to post a picture of your 1798 Draped Bust Dime if you have one!

    I wouldn't pick B, E or I. They look cleaned to me.

All the rest I like, but C is my favorite. I like the color and it has good detail. D and A rank 2nd and 3rd for me.

You read my mind. That is not a quality ability to have, lol. I didn't care for B, E or I, either. Didn't think about them being cleaned, just didn't like the looks. C is my favorite. If you asked me why, I was going to say because it's the first letter of my last name, lol.

If I had to choose, I would take C. It looks like it has not been messed with as much as the others.

I would be careful about this issue. In 15 years of coin dealing, a 1798 dime in a grade similar to this turned out to be the one counterfeit I missed. It fooled more people than just me. It was sold in a Bowers and Merina auction. They made good on the piece several months after they sold it. This happened about 30 years ago.

G, because I I like the way it looks. The pics are a bit dark, but I see enough of it to think that's the one I'd prefer... on an unlimited budget. Or if I were spending someone else's money.

    (C) for me.

The surface has even wear and uniform color to me.

The coin drew my eyes to it.

I like (C), for the same reasons @EdGs just stated. (I) is not bad, either.

I wouldn't object to any of them, really. The smaller-denomination DB silver is tough, across the board.
