The point isn't whether or not there is an original coin in the package. It is the lure of the unknown which tempts many buyers. However, it doesn't mean that the seller could not have opened the boxes, examined the obverse of the two Sac dollars and resealed the packages when he found that they were not the real Cheerios dollars. Do you believe everyone on SleazeBay? What makes this stranger any different? Chris
All excellent points I certainly agree with, but just to clarify: the key to dchjr's response to my earlier post is that we were, for the sake of discussion, assuming the seller "honest".
I commend you for being so trusting. I sure as heck wouldn't be! Heck, the OP hasn't even responded to the questions I asked even though I tagged him. All he wants to know is a price. I'm beginning to question his sincerity. That's what many, many years of SleazeBay participation has created for me. Chris
A good metal detector with target ID would tell if it was a cent or dollar in the box. Good possibility they have already been checked in this way.
I wanted to see a local news report on " LOCAL POLICE x-rayed a reported suspicious Cheerio box and found a story with holes!"
You take that commendation back! Seriously though, we're on the same page. The "honest" thing was simply hypothetical. In the OP's defense, it's certainly possible he hasn't responded simply because he has other things to do, but generally speaking I agree with the sentiment, not just from my time here, but mostly from real life. There's a never-ending supply of people who simply want what they want, and couldn't care less about the details, or any other contributing factors that may impact their demands. Like the old saying goes: you can lead a horse to water....
