Here's my I-don't-think-it's-rare Minerva reverse. I like Domitian's smug smirk: Domitian, AD 81-96. Roman AR denarius, 3.43 g, 18 mm. Rome, AD 91. Obv: IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM P M TR XI (error; should read TR P XI), laureate head, right. Rev: IMP XII COS XV CENS P P P, Minerva advancing right, brandishing a javelin and holding a shield. Refs: RIC 156; RIC² 724; BMCRE p. 336, note; Cohen 269; RCV --.
A nice coin @Roman Collector It is RIC 724 and is listed as common. My guess would be that it would not be common with that obverse legend error however. RIC does not make a note of it in the listing or footnotes.
Domitian (81-96). Denarius. Rome. Obv: IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM P M TR P XI, laureate head right. Rev: IMP XXII COS XVI CENS P P P, Minerva standing right on capital of rostral column, holding spear and shield; at feet, owl. RIC 736. Weight: 3.1 g.
Nice one! Congrats, that is as rare as mine in another thread- RIC 738-just a different Minerva pose.
