Added a few more FH coins to my collection. The first is one I got from Victor, of Constantius Gallus from Constantinople. Unfortunately the officina is not visible, but its RIC 113. The reverse field mark is "B" but looks like a cross between a theta and a D. Another interesting note, for me, is the pattern on the horse rump; I've seen the same on the shield of soldier before on another TR from Constantinople (I was unable to buy it though). Constantius Gallus A.D. 351- 354 19x21mm 3.9gm DN FL CL CONSTANTIVS NOB CAES; bare-headed, draped & cuirassed bust right, Delta behind bust. FEL TEMP RE-PARATIO; Soldier spearing fallen horseman, B in left field. In ex. CONS[?] RIC VIII Constantinople 113 I also picked up another deent FH from Antioch. Constantius II AE 2, 4,75 g / 23 mm obverse D N CONSTAN-TIVS P F AVG, pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right; reverse FEL TEMP RE-PARATIO, Gamma in left, soldier spearing Horseman, hair in braids, bearded, reaching back towards soldier, AN Delta in ex Antioch 132
Very cool!! That Antioch is especially sweet!! When I finally catch the bug for FH types, I know who to contact for clarification---Randy and Martin!!
@randygeki , I agree with @Bing : Both are great. The first one has a lot of dynamics that I "feel" on the reverse (yeah, those dot ankles are weird), and the 2nd coin has a nicely detailed reverse with a good spearman face. Great captures, Sir!
