My father-in-law recently came to town to see his grandchildren. He surprised me after knowing I am a numismatist by bringing his coin collection. Truth be told, he didn't even know how cool his collection was, it was literally just his boyhood collection he has managed to hang on to all these years. So tonight was his last night here, and when we came home from dinner, he had left a few coins out and told me I could have them. I was blown away and made sure he knew what he was just giving me. The first one is a penny planchet. It's rim has been raised, but there is no obverse/reverse design. Any ideas what this is worth? The second coin in a 1884 Indian head penny. It is in great condition. Here is the kicker; it is the THINNEST coin you have ever seen. At first I couldn't wrap my head around it. If it was highly worn I could understand if it was super thin. I have some Barber quarters that have been worn so smooth they have no rim, no reeding, and one can barely tell it is a Barber quarter, and they are noticeably thin. But not like this. If someone knows that they may be worth something I will post pics. Any help would be great.
