Still waiting for mine, ANACS says shipping date will be on 7/30/15. Guess, I'll be waiting for a few more weeks. No problems, thumbs up!!
Ouch, how about the PPIE/ San Francisco Half Dollar? Anyone else care to venture a guess on my submissions?
Well we'll see, I agree with the AU on the half dollar but not so much on the gold but we'll see. More pics on the gold below. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/even-coin-collectors-have-given-up-on-gold.265126/#post-2195881
The surfaces that are away from all the raised devices almost have a shiny or dark look... that leads me to believe it was cleaned. Might just be the pics though.
Yeah, I noticed that after you first mentioned it. We'll see, until then I'm a bit p-od that I didn't catch that before. Anyways, I like that 1840 gold you have that graded an AGO3, that's a surprise. I wonder what my well worn one would grade, I think yours is a little more worn that mine, what ya' think? Anyone? The bottom pics are the best but I don't know how to make them bigger and save them so here's all I have.
I agree it looks better than the one I graded. The reverse is what brought mine down, and I think it will bring yours down some too.
So ticked right now. Logistics is useless! Look at this! It wasn't due until the 22 but I only live the next State over from ANACS so it got here fast. Instead of being a good friendly business and delivering it early they're just going to leave it there! I want my coins already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mine was attempted to deliver today, but I wasn't home to sign, so now FedEx has it at their facility with a 1 hour window to pick it up tonight, from between 7-8. The package arrived at the sort facility 25 minutes away on Sunday, but its like they held it until the posted expected delivery date on purpose. Why not deliver a day early and earn my business....?
I'm not sure you should take it that way. I've had plenty of FedEx packages delivered early but have also seen what you see for the tracking. I THINK that means that it was there, but there wasn't extra room on the truck or schedule to deliver it early, so it stayed behind since it wasn't due. Again, I THINK that if they could have easily fit it in for early delivery, they would have. Rob
Here they are. Picked up last night. My 1916 Mercury came back as a P and not a D. Still think they are wrong. 1 counterfeit and 1 modern reproduction in the batch which I didn't know.
I was expecting to get one or two out of the batch. I just needed ANACS to tell me which ones were no good.
Not an expert at all on gold, but that rim looks very suspect - the denticles look sloppy. Is that an accurate tell on this piece or does that happen on legit examples?
That is a pretty good fake, but I think I would have had enough reservation to pass it up when placing bids. Thanks for the pics!
