    Hello everyone,

I was on eBay this evening and I noticed something interesting and something very upsetting

I will first start with this neat Mint Error certified by NGC - Quarter struck Off Center on Straight edge clip planchet. It's a spectacular mint error. A bit pricey for me but I like to see rare items as such.

Then you have this other listing..

This seller is either an idiot on drugs or a total scam artist!

He just used the same description from the previous item and posted pictures of the same year 2000 quarter with environmental exposure toning :meh:

    Unbelivable :rage:

He states in his description that it is certified by NGC?
They need to take fools like this totally off eBay!

The difference between the quarters is night and day. It would take a very uneducated person to buy the coin. Perhaps worse than uneducated. I know it is not nice of me, but I tend to secretly hope that people like this seller will buy something like they are selling for big bucks so they can learn the hard way.

The bogus description sounds AI generated, probably from the seller copying the listing title.

Yes, I agree. The seller has had no previous listings and 0 Feedback :meh:

When you create an auction on eBay, it gives you an option of using an existing item as a starting point. It prepopulates the fields for you and expects you to adjust the description to match your actual item. I'm guessing this is what this titan of industry, with 0 sales, likely did. "Mine is Virginia; must the same as this NGC one."

Definitely a mistake for certain categories, like coins. I think for other categories it might make a lot of sense.

    You're not going to bid? At $100, it's a steal compared to the $2.5k one :D :D

Recently I bid on a 1921D Morgan, PCGS MS66. Auction ended and someone else won it, then retracted their offer. The seller sent me a message I had the opportunity to pay the amount I bid, the buyer backed out after it was over. I asked the seller where is my offer? Seller messaged back and wrote, "it was an error, it was a stock photo".:D Yeah right buddy. After all of this went down, the buyer posted a negative comment about the coin. It takes several weeks for comments to post, but here it is. :D What a D-bag!

Total Scam. Seller used information from another listing for a PCGS Certified Coin. I immediately asked seller to refund my money and they refused. eBay had to step in after two weeks to refund my money. Avoid this seller.

The first Coin, sold by CTF Error Coins (Christopher Talbot Frank) is a known Error Specialist and Seller. Totally legit and has some nice Mint Errors on his Website Store and Ebay Store. I've bought a few pieces from him, nice dude! The second coin...CrInGE!
