Since @paddyman98 showed off his SC with the 00088000 rotator-radar, I thought I would show you one of my best finds. In 2017, the Bank of Canada issued a 150 year commemorative $10.00. I went to several bank branches & order up to 5 bundles (or stacks) & even a brick (10 bundles or 1000 notes). Several banks refused. They had directions not to allow large withdrawals but I persisted. I don't remember which bank this note came from: only that I was practically shaking when the radar showed up where it should have. The reason I was so excited was that in 2015 our central bank ordered their printers to cease issuing insert replacements. Instead, count the # of notes that were discarded & add that as an extra prefix. For these commemoratives, it was a 6th short prefix (CDF). This meant that there were several missing numbers when searching bundles (& bricks). We were all trying to get some CDF but (unfortunately) none (or very few) were issued in my area. Anyway, back to my strap-searches & my struggle to find radars & any special serial # (radars/repeaters). It became an onerous task. Since the printers were pulling out defective sheets, the serials jumped all over the place & I would find that the # jumped so often (that I kept missing the elusive radar). So this $10 was a sweet discovery (for all the times I missed a radar that should have been in a bundle BUT wasn't!):
