Hello Good CT People, I got today 10 $2 bills.. All 10 of them are in very good condition plus in order of E11666570A to E11666579A.. looking thru them and on the front above jefferson head white line on 2 bills ...in the back of the bill I found some things catching my eye, hope you can see what I see : I see a face( only on 2 /10 bills), all 10 have raised numbers in the same spot and 1 bill with a chair leg that should not be there(compared to US TREASURY image) Has anyone come across something like this? Or is my eyes playing tricks. Having a blast learning from you all. Thanks in advance for your help, time, and input
Your 1st notes look like they were printed with an artifacts on or in the paper.....on coins its called a strike though...some sort of item that caused the mark, or perhaps a issue on the obverse plate .
Thank you do you happen to know if the ribbon on the man's hair is supposed to look like 2 women either fleeing or dancing with eyes looking at them as the knobs?
The ribbon on the sitting statesman's wig is normal looking. You seeing it as dancing/fleeing women is what is termed pareidolia. https://earthsky.org/human-world/seeing-things-that-arent-there/ As for an extra chair leg. I don't see one. Maybe my eyes are getting tired. For further verification, compare your bill in question with the reverse shown on this web site. Keep searching & keep posting . https://i.pinimg.com/originals/b8/45/c4/b845c44a2cf4750ed2d0e646c6e91ace.jpg
tired eyes and wording is correct. Looking at the image you suggested I see a faded chair leg, where in my image the leg shows a bit more. You are awsome, thanks.. so happy to be learning that I'm looking to close
If you don't look you don't see, if you don't see you don't find. You have a very good eye and great curiosity. Keep 'um coming, thanks for sharing.
Looking too hard will find many questionable items in currency designs, but none of those would be considered "errors" in my opinion. I think pareidolia is great, except when looking for errors on coins and currency. LOL
Theres always notes that project a lighter or darker color, but you really need to know what your looking at first, good hunting
It appears that you’re looking for error notes. Most all of the error notes I’ve seen do not require magnification to be identified as an error.
I agree with @Mountain Man & @SteveInTampa (any error must be dramatic) but I must say your images are very interesting to look at. They show the intricacies of modern day printing well.
Hello CT WORLD, I got more $2 bills hoping to add to my collection this morning, 6 out of the 10 2013 & 2017A series have these ink marks. Nothing great with the serial numbers, and circulated bills. Need your help Should I keep or put back into circulation? As always thank you for your help, time and input
Usually these are from when the banks collate and count. They put a wrapper around each bundle of 100 and stamp them to show they have been counted. I believe that is what we are seeing here. I'm open to being corrected, as there doesn't appear to be any method, that I can think of, that would allow this to happen when being printed.
OK everyone as you know from this thread I like seeing things that not all may be able to see So what about this? Whats your take on this?. don't be to brutal
