I found this in a penny roll I was looking into. Does anyone have any ideas about this find? Looks like doubling in letters and date, rim is really jagged. Let me know what you think. Thanks.
i think its just a regular penny. ive experienced a lot of coins that really seemed to be doubled but really arent.
I'm unclear if you are seeing doubling on specific letters or the whole coin, and the pics aren't clear enough to tell. Can you maybe retake pics of a couple of the areas that you see the most doubling in to determine if/ which kind of doubling may be present?
Hope this is better for viewing. I dont have a great camara as a matter of fact I am using my iPhone for pictures lol.
Pics Here are some more pics of my 98 D Lincoln Cent that I am wondering about. Let me know what you think. Thanks.
I agree. Plating split doubling. Here's a good reference site to show non-collectible types of doubling on coins: http://koinpro.tripod.com/Articles/OtherFormsOfDoubling.htm
That's a great page, thanks for posting that. Are there any more example type pages like that that you know of?
http://doubleddie.com/ www.coppercoins.com www.lincolncentresource.com There is a ton more too depending on what you want..I would use google to search for more
Thanks, i didn't have the bottom two. I found a few, the ones with a lot of picture examples are what i really like.
