That does take some time. A bunch of people take their coins to a bank or credit union to one of the coin counting machines. Some have them for free and others charge a small to crazy fee for them. If I'm searching a lot, fast, I take them to my Credit Union and pay a 2% fee. Other than that, re roll them and take them to the regular bank. Don't take them back to the same bank you got them from.
I know. I rotate between 5 banks and I have had a bunch of snow days lately so I just roll myself. I didn't know that some banks offered it as a device though. I'll have to check it out. Thanks
Most are in the 60's with one from 1958. Not the rare variations, but hub doubling. The image is the 005 variety.
RPM's don't come from hub doubling. The MM were hand punched into the dies. It took multiple strikes of the punch to set the MM, any rotation or movement would result in an RPM.
I deal with three banks and get bags of cents. Average 10 to 14 wheat in each bag. Have gone through 65000 cents so far and have not found any WAMS to date. But the search goes on.
I saw the bags sitting in the vault the one day and was tempted to ask for one. What does a bag cost? Is it $50 or more? I don't know if they would let one go but I do know that I'll never find out unless I ask!
Yes. Cent bags are $50. You just have to know when the bank gets rid of them. My banks send out the bags on Tuesday. I usually try for Friday and alternate banks so I don't get back what I turn in. Good luck.
