Help for anybody who knows if these lines mean anything. These are the only two spots i can find on my quarter that have this melted line across two letters. Also...Does this what seems to b a crack mean anything also? Thanks for your feedback.
The lines are not melted on. They are raised areas from the coin itself. When a Die gets worn after much usage they tend to crack. So when the Die strikes the blank planchet the metal from the Planchet goes into those small cracks. Nice find but nothing really major.
